In short: Vodafone TV is now available in the UK to eligible Vodafone mobile and broadband customers. Plans start at £10 per month, while Vodafone TV Essential costs £17 per month and includes Netflix and HBO Max. The compact Android TV box combines Freely, Google Play apps, streamed live channels and cloud gaming, with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 4K output, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
What is Vodafone TV?
Vodafone TV is VodafoneThree’s UK television and entertainment platform. Rather than acting as a basic streaming stick, it brings live television, on-demand services, subscription streaming, apps and cloud games into one interface.
Freely is built in, delivering live and on-demand television from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, 5 and other broadcasters over broadband without requiring a dish or aerial. Vodafone also says the service includes access to an additional 150+ live channels, 300+ games and thousands of apps through the Google Play Store.
This makes Vodafone TV closer to an operator entertainment hub than a normal retail streamer such as the Google TV Streamer or Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Vodafone has still not published every hardware detail that a conventional retail streaming-box specification sheet would normally include. ViewHarbour is therefore leaving the Wi-Fi generation, processor model, exact HDMI specification and detailed port configuration as unknown until Vodafone publishes them clearly.
How much does Vodafone TV cost?
Vodafone’s launch pricing starts at £10 per month for Vodafone TV. Vodafone TV Essential is £17 per month and bundles Netflix and HBO Max with the TV service.
Vodafone mobile customers can also combine an eligible Entertainment plan with Vodafone TV Essential to create Vodafone TV Ultimate at £25.50 per month. Plan eligibility, contract terms and future price changes should be checked directly with Vodafone before ordering.
Who can get Vodafone TV?
Vodafone says Vodafone TV is available now to customers with an eligible Vodafone mobile or broadband plan, directly from Vodafone and through Currys. Exact eligibility depends on the plan you hold or take out, so the Vodafone checkout is the final source for the terms that apply to you.
This is an important difference from standalone streaming boxes such as the Manhattan Aero or Netgem PLEIO 4K Puck, which can be bought without moving your mobile or broadband service to Vodafone.
Freely is a major part of the service
Freely is built into Vodafone TV and brings more than 70 live channels plus broadcaster on-demand content over broadband without a television aerial or satellite dish. Vodafone combines that with 150+ additional streamed live channels of its own.
If Freely is your main priority and you do not want a Vodafone service commitment, see our best Freely TV box UK guide for standalone alternatives. You can also read our five-day hands-on Netgem PLEIO review for a closer look at one of the options.
Netflix, HBO Max, apps and gaming
The £17 Vodafone TV Essential plan bundles Netflix and HBO Max. Other services and apps can be added separately, and Vodafone highlights services such as Prime Video, Disney+, Spotify and DAZN through the wider Android TV / Google Play ecosystem and its subscription options.
Vodafone also advertises more than 300 games, with compatible controllers or a smartphone able to provide controls. A companion app is intended to carry profiles, recommendations and selected entertainment between the television and mobile devices.
How does the hardware compare with retail streaming boxes?
On the confirmed numbers alone, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage put Vodafone TV above many entry-level streaming sticks for memory and storage. For context, the Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) has 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the Google TV Streamer has 4GB RAM and 32GB storage.
Specifications are only part of the story. Network hardware, interface responsiveness, app certification, frame-rate behaviour, HDMI implementation and long-term software support can matter more in everyday use than a simple RAM figure. ViewHarbour has not hands-on tested Vodafone TV, so we are not presenting those areas as measured experience.
What still needs clarification?
- Which Wi-Fi standard and wired-networking options the box supports.
- The processor/chipset and exact HDMI specification.
- USB or expandable-storage options.
- HDR support beyond Dolby Vision.
- Whether automatic frame-rate matching is supported.
- How much of the advertised 32GB is available for user-installed apps.
- What happens to the hardware when a Vodafone TV service ends.
Our take
Vodafone TV has moved from an interesting announcement to a real UK option. Its main selling point is not the box in isolation: it is the combination of Freely, mainstream subscriptions, live channels, apps and gaming inside a single Vodafone service.
The confirmed 3GB RAM and 32GB storage are encouraging, and £10 per month gives the service a clear starting price. The £17 Essential bundle is the more meaningful comparison for households that already pay for Netflix and HBO Max. Whether it is better value than buying a standalone streamer still depends on the Vodafone plan, contract terms and the services you would otherwise pay for separately.
Until ViewHarbour has tested production hardware, this remains a research-based assessment rather than a hands-on review.
